117 Locally Stranded Individuals in Manila traveled home to Bicol by PNR train

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) reported that 117 Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) departed on June 25, 2:45 AM on a train bound for Bicol.

A sleeper coach and EMU coach from PNR were used to shuttle the Bicol residents from Manila back to their province. Sleeper coaches were used to accommodate families, pregnant women, senior citizens, and other PWDs.

But before their departure, all passengers underwent a COVID-19 rapid test. Everyone tested negative. LSIs were asked to remain inside the PNR waiting areas to prevent further exposure.

The coaches operated at a reduced capacity of 150 seats. Social distancing, symptom checks, and disinfecting protocols were observed. A frontliner team of 24 staff were present to assist. LSIs were given meals, financial assistance, and food packs as well.

Upon arrival, all LSIs will be assigned to their LGU quarantine facilitiy for at least 14 days. If you're a stranded individual, you may contact the DOTr and other related agencies for help.
