No Beep Card, No Entry – EDSA Busway to go fully cashless on Oct 1

Starting October 1, public utility buses of the EDSA Busway System will only be accepting cashless payments via Beep Cards. The transition to digital payment aims to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission among commuters.

Use of Beep Cards will complement other health protocols such as the required 1-meter social distance, wearing of face masks and face shields, and prohibition of talking while on board. Cashless payments are not only for the safety of the passenger but also for comfort as this will remove long queues and provide a more seamless commute experience.

The LTFRB urges the riding public to buy and load their Beep Cards in advance to avoid any problems. Beep Cards may be bought and topped up at LRT-1 stations, LRT-2 stations, MRT-3 stations, FamilyMart, Bayad Centers, SM Malls, and BPI Online among others. Passengers will not be allowed to board without a Beep Card.
